Disneyland hotels push back reservations until August - OCRegister

Two Disneyland resort hotels are accepting reservations starting in August as the closure of Disney’s Anaheim theme parks stretches toward four months amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

New reservations for the Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel and Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel are currently available for travel dates on Aug. 1 and later, according to Disneyland website. The Disneyland Hotel remains closed until further notice.

Disneyland and Disney California Adventure closed on March 14 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and remain closed until further notice.

Disneyland and other California theme parks can reopen during Stage 3 of Gov. Gavin Newsom’s four-stage road map for reopening the state’s economy. A firm date has not been established for when California theme parks can reopen.

Disneyland has continuously pushed back the hotel reservation availability window as the continuing coronavirus closure has stretched from weeks to months. In late March, the three Disneyland hotels stopped accepting reservations before June 1. In early May, Disney’s Anaheim hotels began accepting reservations only for July 1 and beyond. Then on the first day of June, Disney pushed the hotel reservation window to July 15.

A proposed reopening of Disney’s Anaheim theme parks on July 17 and Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel and Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel on July 23 has been delayed indefinitely due an increase in COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations.

Disney fan sites have been closely monitoring the Disneyland hotel reservation window for hints as to when the Anaheim theme parks might reopen.

The Disneyland website shows rooms available on Aug. 1 for $428 per night at the Paradise Pier Hotel and $766 at the Grand Californian Hotel.
