The Westchester Hilton in Rye is slated to close its doors permanently, The Journal News/lohud has learned.
The hotel will close due to circumstances caused by the coronavirus pandemic, management at the Westchester Hilton said.
“After 47 years Hilton Westchester will regrettably be closing its doors,” said Kai Fischer, general manager at the hotel. “We’ve enjoyed serving the Rye community and will miss welcoming our guests with our signature Hilton hospitality.”
A letter obtained by The Journal News/ lohud from management at the hotel says employees will be terminated on July 20.

Staff at the hotel, according to the letter, has been furloughed since March 13.
The Westchester Hilton is located on 35 acres at 699 Westchester Avenue in Rye Brook.
The hotel consists of 445 guest rooms, 19 meeting rooms and 33,000 square feet of even space.
According to New York State’s Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification system, 23 Hilton hotels have announced temporary layoffs or closings during the pandemic.
Hilton told The Journal News/lohud the Double Tree by Hilton in Tarrytown will remain open.
According to financial services firm Trepp, the coronavirus has had a profound effect in the lodging industry where 21% of all loans in the U.S. were in special servicing as of June.
