An Ocala man was charged with disorderly conduct on June 6 after refusing to leave the Ocala Hilton near SW 36th Ave.
An Ocala Police Department officer reported 50-year-old Omar Quintana got into her face when she asked him leave. The officer reported Quintana refused to leave after being asked by the hotel staff. The officer said Quintana stood close to her and started pointing his finger in her face while making threats, according to the incident report.
An employee of the Hilton claimed Quintana started yelling at her and claimed Quintana yelled the staff needed to get their “shit together,” according to the report.
Another witness showed an OPD officer a cell phone recording of the incident. An officer spoke with Quintana outside of the hotel about the incident and reported Quintana admitted he was being loud but denied yelling at the staff but instead his nephew, the report stated. Quintana made a second statement to the officer and admitted he had been drinking and claimed he is loud because he is from New York. He added people from New York are typically loud and people in Florida don’t understand. Quintana then refused to speak with the officer further.
Quintana was arrested and transported to the Marion County with a bond set at $500. He was charged with disorderly conduct within a license establishment and a court date is set for July 9 at 1 p.m., jail records show.
