Hilton to add California resort to Waldorf Astoria portfolio - Hotel Management

Hilton is set to open the 400-room Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort & Club in Dana Point, Calif. Purchased by Ohana Real Estate Investors back in November, the former St. Regis Monarch Beach Resort first opened 19 years ago before deflagging in 2016.

Private & Public Spaces

The property’s guestrooms have balconies and ocean-inspired artwork, while shared spaces include a private beach club (accessible via a tram ride). The outdoor pool area includes a family pool and two infinity-edge ocean view Jacuzzis, private cabanas with built-in music, stocked outdoor minibars and outdoor fire pits. The oceanfront 18-hole golf course was designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr.
 
The 30,000-square-foot Spa at Monarch Beach Resort has 24 treatment rooms and suites as well as a lap pool, a boutique, a Drybar salon and Deborah Lippmann nail studio. The space offers more than 40 fitness, yoga and meditation classes per week, including beach yoga.
 
The resort has seven culinary options: Michael Mina’s Bourbon Steak Orange County, the Mediterranean Aveo Table + Bar, a lobby lounge with a bar and living room salon, the Monarch Bay Beach Club, a market for coffee and pastries, a gastropub off the golf course and a poolside cantina. 

The property also has more than 30,000 square feet of indoor event space and 60,000 square feet of outdoor event space that includes a botanical garden, gazebos, lawns and ocean-view terraces.
