The Disneyland resort’s three hotels are no longer accepting reservations and will remain closed indefinitely as the continuing coronavirus closure of Disney’s two adjacent theme parks stretches toward eight months.
The Disneyland Hotel, Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa and Paradise Pier Hotel will remain shuttered, but Disneyland plans to open the Disney Vacation Club villas soon at the Grand Californian.

COVID-19 health and safety reopening guidelines issued by the state could leave Disneyland, Disney California Adventure and other large California theme parks unable to return until early 2021 or next summer. The Downtown Disney outdoor shopping mall reopened in July. DCA’s Buena Vista Street will reopen without rides or attractions on Nov. 19 for shopping and dining.
The Disneyland resort has begun sending emails notifying hotel guests with existing reservations of cancellations through Dec. 31, according to Disney officials. No reservation dates for Disney’s three Anaheim hotels are available in 2021, according to the Disneyland website.

Disneyland has continuously pushed back the hotel reservation availability window as the coronavirus closure has stretched from weeks to months. In late March, the three Disneyland hotels stopped accepting reservations before June 1. Since then, the hotel reservation window for Disney’s Anaheim hotels has been steadily pushed back a few weeks at a time.
Disney fan sites have been closely monitoring the Disneyland hotel reservation window for hints as to when the Anaheim theme parks might reopen.

Meanwhile, Disneyland plans to continue its gradual phased reopening on Dec. 6 with the return of the Disney Vacation Club villas at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, according to a letter sent to DVC members. Access to the Grand Californian will be available exclusively to Disney Vacation Club members.
DVC members with upcoming reservations at the Grand Californian villas will receive information soon on what to expect during their visit. DVC members can book dates at the Grand Californian beginning on Monday, Nov. 9.

Most dining, activities and services will be modified to accommodate limited capacity restrictions due to COVID-19 health and safety protocols during the initial reopening of the DVC villas.
Disneyland has been following now familiar health and safety protocols as part of the “new normal” in the COVID-19 era: Mandatory masks, social distancing, increased sanitization, contactless payments, reduced attraction capacity and employee training.
Only the DVC villas will reopen during the initial stage of the phased reopening. The rest of Disney’s Grand Californian as well as the Disneyland Hotel and the Paradise Pier Hotel will remain closed indefinitely.
