An Arlington firm has gotten the OK for an Irving hotel set to start next year.

Type Six Design & Development has received zoning approval for a six-story Hotel Indigo in Las Colinas.

The 150-room hotel will include a restaurant and meeting space. Construction will start in the second quarter of 2021.

“We’re excited to move forward with the innovative design we’ve developed for Hotel Indigo,” James Lusty, Type Six co-founder, said in a statement. “Focusing on a balance of form and function, we’re proud to bring this much-needed hotel to Las Colinas as it continues to rapidly expand as an ever-growing destination in D-FW.”

Part of the InterContinental Hotels Group, Hotel Indigo also has locations in downtown Dallas and Frisco.

Type Six Design & Development is also the architect for the planned State Bank of Texas in Las Colinas. The company has designed Marriott, Hilton and Hyatt hotels in North Texas.
