Hilton to reopen Tahiti property, more than a decade after it closed - Travel Weekly

Hilton Hotels & Resorts will reopen the Hilton Tahiti in 2021.

Located in the Tahitian capital of Papeete, the Hilton Tahiti initially debuted in 2009, operating for approximately a year under the Hilton flag before shuttering in early 2010. The property is currently undergoing a revamp, which is set to be completed by the first half of next year.

The property will feature 171 guestrooms and 29 suites, including two Royal Suites, the largest of which will span nearly 2,000 square feet.

The resort will offer an all-day restaurant, a brasserie-style dining venue and an Asian eatery, as well as a terrace bar. A market stocked with snacks and other sundries will also be on offer.

Other amenities will include a spa, fitness center, an executive floor and lounge, an outdoor pool and close to 8,000 square feet of event space.

"We are very happy to re-open the hotel Hilton Tahiti," said Melinda Wane, a member of the Wane family, which owns the Hilton Tahiti. "We have partnered with Hilton for many years, and we are very delighted that this collaboration continues successfully and contributes to the development of our hotels and the destination."

The Wane family also owns the Conrad Bora Bora.

The re-signing of Hilton Tahiti brings Hilton's footprint in French Polynesia to three properties, joining both the Hilton Moorea Lagoon Resort & Spa and Conrad Bora Bora.
