On Wednesday, July 29, Mayor Brad Cohen, Chief Frank LoSacco and EBPD Officers received a donation of 10,000 masks from Gary Tucker, Regional Director of Hotel Operations, Marshall Hotels and Resorts, Vincent Cheng, Executive VP of Enburg Group, James Tseng, Executive VP of Enburg Group and Marco Howington, VP of Public Relations and Governmental Affairs of Enburg Group.
Enburg Group is the Owner of Hilton East Brunswick, DoubleTree by Hilton Somerset, and developer of the high-rise development at 150-170 Main Street in downtown Hackensack.
Established in 1978, Enburg started as a local food manufacturer in Southeast Asia and has evolved into a diversified investment company that has branched out to encompass a number of industries including real estate development.
Mayor Brad Cohen, M.D. of East Brunswick Township said, “This donation comes at a time in the middle of a pandemic where the hospitality industry, in particular, has been significantly hit and yet at the same time you found it in your hearts to be able to contribute back to the township something that we all desperately need.”
“It's a wonderful township; we are thankful to be part of this. Enburg and the Hilton East Brunswick have always felt that a hotel is a central part of the community,” said Gary Tucker, Regional Director of Hotel Operations. “We got to give back in the good times and we got to give back in the bad times, and this is just part of that effort to do that. Enburg also has donated, between the two properties, over 1,500 room nights complementary to the emergency staffs at the hospitals.”
Mayor Cohen said, “As a physician myself and a member of the staff both at Robert Wood and St. Peters, I know that a lot of the people that they had to bring in at the early part of the crisis needed to be housed and you were there at that time and that’s something that most people here don't know and it certainly was well received, very important and it did a lot to helping us get through the worst of the crisis at the worst time”
“As the global pandemic continues to raise flags of uncertainty, it is strongly advised that people continue to follow proper CDC guidelines to prevent the spread of Covid-19,” said Marco Howington. “While our first responders are working in the highest exposure environments and as City Officials remain active in ensuring community safety standards, Enburg Group recognizes the importance of having access to necessary protective gear and is proud to contribute to their protection.”
