Eastvale, a young city that celebrated its 10th birthday a few months ago, is getting its first hotel.
A $25 million, four-story, hotel with 120 large rooms, or suites, is rising on the city’s south side next to the 15 Freeway, just north of the sprawling SilverLakes sports complex in Norco.
Part of the Hamner Place development, Staybridge Suites Hotel & Conference Center Eastvale will feature an open-air rooftop bar and restaurant and 300-person-capacity conference center, said Gagan Batta, who represents Eastvale Palace LLC, the developer. The firm hired the Ranchers Hotel Group to build the facility, he said.
Construction got underway in the third quarter of 2020 and will take about two years, Batta said. The hotel is expected to open in the third quarter of 2022, he said.
When it does, said Lelani Kroeker, executive director of new business development and events at SilverLakes, the project will complement the many soccer and other sports tournaments, and concerts, that are held at the park.
“We’re going to fill up his hotel, that’s for sure,” Kroeker said.
Eastvale City Manager Bryan Jones looks forward to the project’s arrival.
“We’re not only excited to have our first hotel, but the nicest hotel along the 15 corridor,” Jones said. “And you won’t have to go to downtown LA to experience a rooftop 360-degree view.”
There are very few such places in the region of Riverside and San Bernardino counties.
Batta said the open-air bar and eatery will be called ALT or Altitude Lounge & Terrace.
“It’s basically on the fifth floor overlooking the SilverLakes park, Santa Ana River and Norco Hills,” he said.
The hotel’s pool area will feature resort-style cabanas, Marc Donohue, Eastvale city clerk and communications director, wrote in an email.
The project was designed with next-door SilverLakes in mind, Batta said. The hotel also is expected to draw visitors from the nearby Naval Surface Warfare Center, Corona Division, in Norco, he said, as well as friends and family members who visit residents of Eastvale and Norco.
The hotel’s Parkview Banquets and Conference Center will attract regional conferences, Batta said.
From the city’s perspective, Jones said, the center will provide a much-needed meeting place in the Eastvale community.
The hotel is projected to generate $500,000 to $750,000 annually in hotel tax revenue for the city, Jones said.
As for the rooms, Batta said, they will have miniature kitchens so hotel guests can do their own cooking.
