STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- The NYPD is asking for the public’s help to identify men sought for questioning in connection with a gunpoint robbery captured on video surveillance at the Hilton Garden Inn in Bloomfield.
Two unidentified men entered the hotel at 1100 South Ave. at about 6:30 a.m. on Monday, according to a statement from the NYPD’s Deputy Commissioner of Public Information.
The men walked behind the front desk while one of the individuals displayed a firearm. The men then used force to remove about $1,500 dollars from the cash register. One of the men accidentally discharged the firearm while removing the money. No injuries were sustained during the robbery, according to the police statement.

The men fled in a white Mercedes sedan to parts unknown, according to the police statement.
Surveillance video of the incident was captured in the vicinity of the hotel and provided to the media by the NYPD.
