A 14-story hotel with sweeping views of Boston Harbor just opened in the Seaport District.
The 416-room Hampton Inn by Hilton and Homewood Suites by Hilton Boston Seaport is located at 670 Summer Street at the entrance of Raymond L. Flynn Marine Park.
“This is truly one of a kind within the Hilton global network,” said Charlie York, general manager of Hampton Inn by Hilton and Homewood Suites by Hilton Boston Seaport, during the ribbon cutting ceremony.
Guests of the dual-branded property have “one seamless guest experience at arrival,” he said, and then choose between the Hampton Inn or Homewood Suites. The rooms and suites offer water and city views and the suites feature fully-equipped kitchens and seating areas, for “a true home-away-from-home feeling,” according to the company.
The hotel turned to local artist Chris Williams, of Essex, for an 18-foot anchor statue made of solid cast glass called “Arrival,” which, it noted, “sets us apart and serves as a beacon that welcomes in our travelers from both land and sea.”
Hotel amenities include a heated indoor pool, 24-hour fitness center, a 24-hour market featuring local food as well as beer and wine, and a complimentary hot breakfast. Guests also have access to valet parking, free Wifi, and laundry services.
The hotel offers more than 6,000 square feet of event space, ranging from “sunlit ballrooms to breathtaking terraces and stunning harbor views,” wrote the hotel, and the areas are equipped for weddings and other large events. For on-site meetings, the hotel features a full culinary kitchen and has an exclusive partnership with Boston’s Gourmet Caterers. The company says it is committed to hosting “clean, safe, and socially-responsible events.”
“With waterfront views, modern amenities, and two trusted Hilton brands under one roof, this is truly a premier addition to the Hilton brands like you have never seen before,” said York in a statement. “Whether you’re taking a family vacation, celebrating a special occasion, or hosting a wedding, our dual-branded property is uniquely positioned to accommodate every type of traveler and event. Summer is coming and we know that our guests will love the harbor views from our expansive outdoor park, along with the hotel’s close proximity to the many attractions located in the bustling Seaport District.”
The hotel is owned by Boston-based companies Harbinger Development and Intercontinental Real Estate Corporation.
Rates start at $136 per night.
