After a three-month hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Caesars Southern Indiana Casino resumed gaming operations at approximately 50% of its capacity at 6 a.m. Monday, June 15, in accordance with directives from the Indiana Gaming Commission. The re-opening fell into Stage 4 of Gov. Eric Holcomb’s five-stage Back on Track Plan.

The Bridgeport entertainment site had just opened its new 110,000-square-foot land-based gaming facility in mid-December after a 21-year run as a riverboat casino. The casino and hotel had been closed since March 16.

Caesars Southern Indiana implemented Caesars Entertainment Corp.’s new health and safety protocols, which enhanced its existing plans and practices in these areas.

“The staff is working to create an environment with enhanced standards of sanitation and physical distancing practices,” the company said in a press release.

Slot machines and table games will be configured with limited seating to provide for physical distancing. Restaurants will be open with limited hours and seating reconfigured to take into account guidance from the public health authorities.

The Caesars hotel also re-opened on June 15. However, several amenities will be added in later phases. Poker, valet parking, the swimming pool and the spa will all open at a later date.

Caesars Southern Indiana plans to conduct temperature checks for guests at each entry point. Guests are strongly encouraged to wear masks during their visit and are required to do so when participating in table games. Slot machines have been re-arranged to allow for physical distancing, and smoking, for now, isn’t permitted at table games.

Among the enhanced health and safety protocols to be implemented by Caesars Southern Indiana are more frequent cleaning and sanitization. Employee screening and temperature checks will be conducted daily. Team members are also required to wear masks.
