During the COVID-19 pandemic, notable credit card welcome offers have largely been on hold. The last major travel card deal we saw was in February, with a 140,000-point bonus offered on new IHG Rewards Club Premier Credit Card sign-ups. But for Hilton hotel regulars, there's now an even higher welcome offer to consider. The Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card is one of the best hotel cards on the market (it's great for earning points on summer road trips, too). Now, you can earn 150,000 Hilton Honors bonus points after you spend $4,000 within the first three months of membership.

With that many Hilton Honors points in the bank, you can redeem several nights at one of Hilton's lower-cost hotels, or a night or two at one of the more luxurious properties. Since Hilton has dynamic pricing and doesn't publish an award chart, prospective guests will have to play around with Points Explorer tool to see what their points can get them. A few notable options include The Grand Wailea, A Waldorf Astoria Resort in Hawaii, which has rooms available for 95,000 Hilton Honors points per night, and the Canopy by Hilton Portland Pearl District, with rooms from 32,000 points per night. Rooms at Mexico's Hilton Playa Del Carmen start at 69,000 points per night.

Some top properties—including The Boulders Resort & Spa Scottsdale, where fall stays can be booked for as low as 80,000 points per night—are even discounting points bookings in hopes of enticing wary travelers back after months of staying at home. To that end, while points can be redeemed for hotel stays later in the year, those looking to travel sooner can still book without worrying about changing plans: Any Hilton reservations booked through August 31, 2020, for any future arrival date can be changed or canceled at no charge up to 24 hours before your scheduled arrival day.

It's worth noting that the Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card has a $450 annual fee. While that's not cheap, it allows for a variety of additional points and benefits that make it among the best for Hilton-loyal travelers. Among those benefits are a $250 annual airline credit to put toward incidental purchases on the airline of your choice; up to a $250 credit each year to use at Hilton Resorts (which, through August 2020, can be used toward restaurant purchases in the U.S., including take-out and delivery); up to a $100 property credit when booking stays at select Hilton properties; Priority Pass Select airline lounge membership; automatic Diamond Status with Hilton, which entitles you to suite upgrades when available; and one free weekend night reward during the first year of card membership and each year after renewing the card.

As for the card's point structure, cardholders earn 14 points per dollar on Hilton purchases; seven points per dollar on select travel purchases (including flights booked directly with airlines or amextravel.com, and on car rentals booked directly from select car rental companies); seven points per dollar at U.S. restaurants; and three points per dollar on all other purchases.
