Birmingham police West Precinct officers and Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service responded at 2:05 p.m. to a report of a person injured outside Comfort Inn & Suites at the city’s Crossplex Village.
A man was found stabbed in a vehicle outside a west Birmingham hotel Thursday afternoon.
Birmingham police West Precinct officers and Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service responded at 2:05 p.m. to a report of a person injured outside Comfort Inn & Suites at the city’s Crossplex Village. Sgt. Rod Mauldin said when police arrived there, they found a man had been stabbed.
Both doors to the dark sedan were open and there was a significant amount of blood on the ground on the driver’s side. The victim, whose identity has not been released, was taken to UAB Hospital’s Trauma Center. His injury is life-threatening.
Mauldin said a suspect was taken into custody at the scene and detained for questioning. It wasn’t immediately clear whether the stabbing happened there or if the victim stopped there for help.
