A Camas hotel manager was arrested for setting fire to the hotel Wednesday morning -- while 15 guests were inside -- in an attempt to get insurance money, police said.

An employee was also inside the Camas Hotel when Won Dong Lee Kim, 30, of Camas started a fire in an unoccupied room, police said.

A guest on the third floor called 911 after the fire alarm in her room went off. The guest located and extinguished the small fire, which was limited to the nearby unoccupied room and caused minimal damage, police said.

Fire investigators detected evidence the fire was intentionally set, and turned the investigation over to police, who arrested Kim.

He was booked at the Clark County Jail and charged with first-degree arson.

Camas Hotel is a historic building from 1911.
