The next phase of the $1.8 billion Frisco Station development is opening its doors.
The 150-room Canopy by Hilton hotel is located just west of the Dallas North Tollway between Warren and John Hickman parkways. It’s been in the works for more than two years and joins an AC Hotel and Residence Inn, both of which opened last summer.
All three hotels are projects of Lewisville-based NewcrestImage LLC.
“The opening of this Canopy symbolizes the story of hospitality’s comeback around the country and around the world,” said NewcrestImage chairman and CEO Mehul Patel in a statement. “Our company’s commitment to serve travelers is not a victim of coronavirus, and we have many hygiene procedures in place so guests can feel safe, comfortable and special.”
NewcrestImage eventually plans to operate four hotels at Frisco Station. A 150-room Hyatt Place has not yet started construction.
A total of 600 rooms are planned in the hotel complex.
Along with the hotels, construction in Frisco Station is underway on a 322-room apartment community being built by Hillwood. And a 210,000-square-foot speculative office building is being built by VanTrust Real Estate.
The 242-acre Frisco Station development is a project of Hillwood, VanTrust Real Estate and Rudman Partnership. It wraps around the Dallas Cowboys’ Star in Frisco development.
The Frisco Station Canopy by Hilton hotel is the second new Frisco hotel set to debut this week. A 303-room Hyatt Regency Hotel also is opening adjacent to Stonebriar Centre mall.
