Locally inspired Hilton Garden Inn opens in downtown Austin - TOPHOTELNEWS

Rockbridge and HRI Properties have debuted the new Hilton Garden Inn Austin University Capitol District, featuring a chic interior design concept led by Studio 11 Design.

This 214-key property, developed by HRI Properties and managed by HRI Lodging, lies at the heart of downtown Austin.

Impressive amenities at Austin’s latest hotel

Designed for the modern traveller, this new Hilton Garden Inn hotel offers a welcoming lobby encompassing work and lounge areas extending outdoors, ground-level restaurant and bar, second-floor breakfast room and meeting space, fitness centre with yoga corner, and rooftop deck and event space with city views. Located between the Texas Capital Corridor and the University of Texas, it makes an ideal base for accessing downtown Austin’s parks, restaurants, bars and music venues.

“We’re thrilled to open the Hilton Garden Inn Austin University Capitol District in the heart of the city,” said Michael Coolidge, chief investment and development officer for HRI. “Austin is a thriving hub of art and culture and we wanted to reflect that throughout the entire property, from the creative food and beverage offerings to the eclectic local art programme, to the vibrant energy of the 17th floor rooftop deck.”

“The hotel embodies the distinct Austin personality of this dynamic destination, while staying true to the welcoming service and amenities of the trusted Hilton Garden Inn brand.”

Studio 11 Design draws inspiration from the city

A sense of place has been instilled through the property. Interiors were designed by Dallas-based Studio 11 Design to capture Austin’s distinctive vibe, with the help of a fresh colour palette, artful lighting and locally sourced materials.

Earthy tones and rich brown leather distinguish the lobby, while textured wall coverings and artwork feature throughout the property in a nod to the city’s modern creative spirit and cattle town roots.

Each guestroom pays homage to Austin’s music scene, not least by showcasing artwork made from vintage posters. Amenities within these rooms include mini-refrigerators, smart TVs, K-cup coffee makers, microwaves, laptop safes, Hilton Beautyrest Harmony beds and complimentary wifi.

Meanwhile, guests and locals can dine at the Analog bar and restaurant, focusing on the flavours of downtown Austin and its food trucks, complemented by signature cocktails and craft beverages from Texan distributors and live music by local artists. Additional dining options in the hotel include Intro: Early Eatery, offering an American breakfast buffet; and The Store, stocking locally made products and grab-and-go dining options from Analog.

Guests and patrons also have access to the 17th-floor rooftop deck, Apex, offering impressive views, outdoor lounge space and lawn games. This area is set to host occasional pop-up activations and can be reserved for private events accommodating up to 100 people.

Overall, the property has more than 4,000 sq ft of indoor and outdoor event space, including the Apex Room and 17th-floor rooftop terrace. This space is distinguished by a colour scheme of cream, blue and gold in geometric patterns, along with high vaulted ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows.
