In many of the photos, seeing is believing as efforts are well under way to replace the roof. The photos were taken earlier in the week and even more progress has been made in replacing the roof. Hotel Grim's transformation is taking shape, primarily with a new roof, windows and floor resurfacing.

About 40 skilled workers were at the site Friday, doing everything from demolition to window installation. If they can keep on pace, the interior wall framing will begin in about two
weeks.

As it stands, roof demolition is already complete, including replacing rotten wood and some joists that were charred in some earlier era.

Crews are working on an expansive roofing project, which should be complete in two weeks, according to Cohen-Esrey Development Group officials.

The building's concrete flooring is also getting resurfaced.

First, the concrete floor's imperfections are patched and the entire surface cleaned before Gypcrete is poured from a hose and smoothed over the concrete, creating an even surface on which to place other flooring
options.

As of Friday morning, three of the building's floors were poured with Gypcrete and crews were expecting two additional floors to be complete by day's
end.

New, energy efficient windows are also being installed on the building's in's higher floors. Overall, the building will have 162 windows.

New stairwells are also being constructed and the building's exterior is also being cleaned.

Other improvements, not as visible, are also present, including the building being 100% lead and asbestos free.

The Hotel Grim will serve as apartments once complete.

Tim Minson, project manager, said repair work is nearing completion.

Keeping the project moving forward, even in the midst of the pandemic with healthy employees, was an important mission for the company, he said.

Hearing construction equipment and seeing activity at the building has served as reassurance to the community in these uncertain times.

The continued work, Minson said, serves as a "beacon with the light still on."
