Hilton And Delta Join Lyft’s Ride Shares To Covid-19 Vaccines - Forbes

Lyft said Hilton and Delta Airlines will join the ride-sharing giant’s effort to mobilize 60 million low-income Americans to Covid-19 vaccination sites across the U.S.

Lyft in December launched the initial partnership with an array of companies including health insurance giant Anthem, JP Morgan Chase, the United Way among several other groups and companies to get Americans to and from Covid-19 vaccination sites. Lyft’s vaccine access program has a goal to provide access to 60 million rides to and from vaccination sites, “especially in support of low-income, uninsured and at-risk communities,” the companies said.

In the latest stage of its vaccine push announced Tuesday, Lyft said Hilton and Delta loyalty programs “are working with Lyft and, alongside founding partners, JPMorgan Chase and others, will mobilize their members to provide access to rides to vaccination sites to those in need.”

The announcement by Lyft and its partners comes following President Biden’s pledge to open up Covid-19 vaccinations to all adults by May 1.

"The combined strength of all of our partners, with our ability to reach vulnerable communities, enables us to support equitable vaccine access in communities that need it most," Lyft co-founder and President John Zimmer said.

Lyft said Hilton and Delta will work to “mobilize Hilton Honors and Delta SkyMiles members, respectively, in their joint efforts to provide aid to those in need in cities across the country.” Hilton will award bonus points through May 31 of this year to members who have their Hilton Honors and Lyft accounts linked, offering various incentives. And Delta is offering a one-time bonus of miles to the first 15,000 “Delta and Lyft linked SkyMiles members who contribute a minimum of $5 through Lyft’s Fund a Ride feature through May 31, 2021.”

“We are committed to ensuring that safe transportation is not a barrier to vaccine access,” Mark Weinstein, Hilton’s senior vice president and global head of marketing and loyalty, said. “The sooner everyone is vaccinated, the sooner we can reconnect with the things we love, including travel.”
