Two people were injured in a shooting early Saturday morning outside a San Mateo hotel, according to police.

The shooting was reported at about 12:35 a.m. in a parking lot of the Marriott Residence Inn on Winward Way near the Bridgepointe Shopping Center, the San Mateo Police Department stated in a news release.

One of the injured people suffered a minor injury, and a second victim is listed in critical but stable condition, police said.

Investigators believe the shooting involved two groups of people visiting the area and who knew each other. Police said no suspects had been arrested as of Saturday afternoon.
