Aurora police responded to a shooting early Monday morning and found a man dead inside a hotel.

According to a news release, at about 5:15 a.m. Monday police went to the Hometowne Suites on the 3700 block of North Chambers Road following a call of a shooting. Officers found a man in a hotel room who had been shot. The male, who police did not identify, was declared dead at the scene. Police said they detained a juvenile male after they located the youth nearby. His involvement is under investigation, and his name will not be released.

No one has been arrested nor have charges been filed in this case. However, police said Tuesday they were not looking for any outstanding suspects. The case is under investigation as a homicide.

The Adams County Coroner’s Office will release the man’s identity after a positive identification has been made and his next-of-kin has been notified. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. Those who call may remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward up to $2,000.
